FDIC certificate, charter class, primary regulator, website, geocoded address, prior names, successor links for merged banks, and the latest financials: total assets, deposits, equity, net income, return on assets and return on equity.

Are closed and merged banks included?

Yes. All 27,833 institutions past and present are present, 4,235 of them active, with successor links so a merged bank resolves to the institution that absorbed it.

How are branches represented?

78,075 branch locations with coordinates, searchable by bank, state, city or proximity to a point.

How fresh is the data?

Institutions, branches and financials are refreshed daily from the FDIC BankFind API, and failures are added as the FDIC announces them.

Does it cover credit unions?

No. Credit unions are regulated by the NCUA and are not in the FDIC data. Only FDIC-insured banks and savings institutions are included.

Search banks by name, state or city; rank the largest; list a bank''s branches or find every branch in a ZIP code; and query the failure history that risk teams need — Silicon Valley Bank, Signature and First Republic in 2023 with assets, estimated FDIC losses and acquirers, back through the 534 failures of 1989.
