Where do the prices come from?

Coinbase's public price API and Coinbase Exchange. Exchange-traded pairs also return bid, ask, last trade time and 24-hour statistics such as open, high, low, volume and change.

How fresh are the prices?

Spot prices are cached at the edge for 60 seconds, so a price is never more than a minute old. Asset and pair directories are cached for an hour.

Can I get historical prices?

Yes. Any pair accepts a date for the daily spot on that day, and the history endpoint returns up to 300 OHLCV candles at intervals from one minute to one day.

Which pairs are supported?

More than 400 crypto assets against more than 170 fiat currencies, and crypto against crypto such as ETH-BTC. The pairs endpoint lists everything currently quoted.

What does a call cost?

10 tokens, because each request reaches Coinbase live. Batch pricing of up to 50 symbols is one call, which is the economical way to price a portfolio.
