Which languages are supported?

About 100, including all major European, Asian, Middle Eastern and African languages, identified by ISO 639-1 codes such as es, de, ja or ar.

Do I have to specify the source language?

No. Omit it and the API detects the source. Setting it explicitly gives better results for short or ambiguous text.

How long can the text be?

Use GET for short strings and POST for longer bodies. Very long documents are best split into paragraphs.
