Every airline with a story, in one reference layer: 4,650 carriers past and present from Wikidata (CC0), 2,669 with IATA codes — the crosswalk travel tech actually needs. Resolve DL to Delta Air Lines with its ICAO code DAL, callsign DELTA, SkyTeam membership and real hub list (JFK, LAX, Sea-Tac...); resolve ICAO BAW to British Airways and Oneworld. Historic codes resolve too, active carriers ranked first — and defunct airlines carry their end year (Pan Am: 1991), which matters because IATA codes get reused. Search by name, country or alliance: Star Alliance lists its 68 active members led by Lufthansa, Turkish and United; Japan returns JAL and ANA on top. Each airline carries founding year, website, Wikipedia link and a notability rank. Completes our aviation family — pair with Airports (86k fields), Aircraft (ICAO types) and Aircraft Registrations (316k tail numbers) for full-stack aviation products.
